DEKA aims at climate neutrality across 600 assets by 2050

BuildingMinds and Deka Immobilien have partnered in a collaboration to transform the real estate sector. Over the past months, BuildingMinds has implemented an advanced central ESG data platform aligned with Deka’s requirements to help improve measurement of the portfolio’s buildings and environmental performance.

BuildingMinds collaborates with Cromwell Property Group and JWA to raise industry benchmarks and promote thought leadership via two new white papers. The joint chapter with Cromwell highlights cross-laminated timber (CLT) as a superior alternative to concrete and steel, offering environmental, social, and financial benefits. Mass timber buildings have a 61% lower carbon footprint.

JWA's white paper emphasizes the need for prompt asset retrofitting, as over 50% of audited buildings face stranding by 2024. Operational efficiency can delay stranding by 4 years, with further improvements potentially extending it to 2035. Warehousing and logistics present major decarbonization opportunities, offering 18%-29% savings through limited control upgrades.

GRESB reporting boosts in ODCE fund's quarterly returns by 0.35%

BuildingMinds is introducing a new GRESB campaign featuring added services to support potential clients in improving their GRESB score. A study from GRESB suggests that GRESB reporting is linked to a 0.35% rise in an ODCE (Open End Diversified Core Equity) fund's total quarterly return, which is significant considering the average ODCE quarterly total return is 1.94%.
