The Council is a multi-disciplinary team of experts spanning several fields, from top-down macroeconomics and energy system specialists to bottom-up technical building experts. The Technical Council’s diversity provides for the right blend of skills and perspectives to oversee CRREM’s science-based tools. It serves as an independent governing body that oversees the development, maintenance, and approval of the CRREM Pathways, CRREM Global Methodology, and CRREM Risk Assessment Tool.
In addition, CRREM’s Foundation Board has also approved the Technical Council’s first research assignment: a review of CRREM’s global energy Pathways. This research and development mandate will assess if potential refinements could strengthen the relevance of CRREM’s EUI Pathways across regions, building types, and energy systems. It is part of the CRREM Foundation’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the CRREM Pathways remain scientifically robust, practical, and trusted by users. While the Technical Council undertakes this review, the current Pathways remain fully endorsed for use. More details on the scope of work and timelines will be released in due course.
