BuildingMinds Launches Retrofit Asset Prioritization Feature

Retrofit Asset Prioritization Tool

New Analytics Tool Identifies Highest-Impact Building Investment Opportunities

Germany, Munich 7th October 2025 -- BuildingMinds, top 4 innovation digital Switzerland award winner, today launched its Retrofit Asset Prioritization feature that identifies buildings with the greatest potential for energy efficiency gains and carbon emissions reduction across property portfolios.

The feature uses multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) to help property owners prioritize retrofit investments for maximum environmental impact while ensuring CRREM compliance.

Investment Intelligence

The feature evaluates buildings based on three environmental performance indicators: excess energy consumption until 2050 and excess carbon emissions until 2050 - both benchmarked against the relevant CRREM targets - as well as current energy intensity per gross internal floor area, which is reported but not benchmarked. Buildings are ranked considering these 3 KPIs, enabling portfolio managers to focus investments on assets that will have the highest impact environmental and financial impact in the portfolio.

Portfolio Analytics

Integrated within the BuildingMinds platform, this capability delivers visual analytics that highlight how priority buildings perform relative to portfolio benchmarks and CRREM targets. Users can segment portfolios with advanced filters such as ownership structure, construction year, and energy performance thresholds, enabling tailored analysis and decision-making.

Data quality indicators promote reliable analysis, while export options enable seamless integration with asset management systems and ESG reporting workflows.

Market Leadership

As a top 4 innovation digital Switzerland 2025 award winner, BuildingMinds has established market leadership in building analytics technology. The Retrofit Asset Prioritization feature addresses growing demand for strategic sustainability investment guidance in global property markets where CRREM targets apply.

"Portfolio managers face critical capital allocation decisions when planning building improvements," said Karina Loekmanwidjaja, Sustainability Lead and Product Owner at BuildingMinds. "Our new feature makes it easier to see which assets to prioritize, helping balance climate compliance with building performance and market value."

Data Foundation

The feature analyzes buildings with comprehensive datasets including verified gross internal area measurements, established CRREM pathway targets, and minimum twelve months of validated energy consumption data. This ensures prioritization recommendations meet institutional investment standards.

BuildingMinds' existing retrofit planning capabilities are directly connected to this feature, providing a seamless, end-to-end workflow from portfolio assessment through to project implementation.
